Cookies & consent
The site itself works without cookies. A single localStorage entry remembers your cookie-banner choice. Optional analytics or advertising scripts (when enabled) load only after you accept them in the banner; declining keeps the site fully functional.
Analytics
When analytics is enabled it may be Google Analytics 4 (cookie-based, IP-anonymised) or Plausible (cookieless). We see aggregate page statistics, never a profile of you. With consent declined, no analytics script loads at all.
Advertising & affiliate links
Ad slots, when active, are served by the ad network named in the banner and are subject to its policies; ads only load after consent. Some gear recommendations are affiliate links — they are marked, and they never change the price you pay.
External services
Cloud-cover data is fetched by your browser directly from Open-Meteo, which therefore sees your IP address (as any website you visit does). Aurora (NOAA SWPC) and ISS (N2YO) data are fetched by our server — those providers never see you.
